Have never purchased new at a Rolex AD. My wait list spot for a GMT Master II is 2 years 1 month at this point and unlikely to happen. My father and grandfather both purchased new at ADs, in the 60's and 80's. Both of those ADs are now closed.
I don't think Rolex makes the best watches out there and don't care about prestige but I admire brands history and model pedigree. So I've signed for waitlist with two ADs in San Francisco / San Jose on DJ36 two month ago.
